Page types help editors choose the right structure before writing. The template controls the layout so content stays consistent even when volunteers and staff change.
Core rule
Do not start by asking how the page should look. Start by asking what the user is trying to do, then choose the page type that already supports that need.
For volunteers
If you are unsure, draft the content using the closest page type and mark it for editor review. Do not create a new structure unless a content designer agrees there is no suitable existing type.
