About the home

Swanwick Lodge is Hampshire County Council's secure welfare home, providing care, on site education and health support. Children receive individual support and help to prepare for moving on, while families can arrange approved visits through reception.

The April 2026 full inspection rated the home Good overall. Inspectors found improved care and health support, and children said they felt safe and listened to. Education required improvement, especially attendance and the range of learning. Complaints information also needed to be easier for younger children to understand. August's monitoring visit did not give a new overall rating.

Visiting and keeping in touch

All visits must be booked with reception and visitors approved by the child's social worker. Bring photo identification. School day visits are 6:30pm to 8:30pm; holidays and weekends by arrangement. Confirm current arrangements before travelling.
