About the home

Kyloe House is Northumberland County Council's secure welfare home, providing care, on site education and health support for children placed by local authorities. Staff work with children on individual plans and preparation for moving on.

Ofsted's November 2025 inspection rated the home Good overall. Inspectors highlighted trusting relationships, activities that build confidence and thoughtful preparation for leaving. Education required improvement: staffing pressures affected consistency, and the curriculum and teaching needed to help children make stronger progress.
