Barton Moss is Salford City Council’s secure care centre in Eccles. Ofsted’s November 2025 report states that its places are commissioned by the Youth Custody Service, with education delivered on site and health services commissioned by NHS England.
The November 2025 inspection rated the home good overall, including health, protection and leadership. Children and families described positive relationships and support from a stable staff team. Education required improvement. Inspectors also described work to help children build confidence and prepare for their next placement or return to the community.
