HM Inspectorate of Prisons report

Deerbolt independent review of progress 2025

Report for Deerbolt Prison

Summary

the inspection. Health services were now generally reliable. Employment support for prisoners was good. The prison had established strong connections with a range of national and regional employers, and careers guidance workers helped prisoners nearing release to research job vacancies. Points to note: A significant shortfall in staff meant it was difficult to offer a consistent day-to-day routine for prisoners, and the future visa status of officers recruited from overseas was a risk to future progress.
