Summary
HM Inspectorate surveyed children at HMYOI Cookham Wood on 9 April 2024. The population was 48; questionnaires were given to 47 children and 39 were completed, an 83% response rate. One child was at court. The report presents the full responses and compares them with other young offender institutions surveyed since July 2023 and with other establishments holding children. It explains the survey method, safeguarding checks and the treatment of missing answers and smaller groups. This is a survey and results report rather than a full inspection judgement.
